The Orchid Cottage at Hale Pohaku

Originally built in the 1940s, the Jungle Cottage (cottage B in the aerial photograph) is one of two of Hale Pohaku's historic plantation cottages. It's perfect for either a romantic Poipu honeymoon cottage, or a family Kauai vacation rental. Situated adjacent to our private pool, the walkway leading to the cottage's entrance reflects the natural, tropical landscaping that characterizes Hale Pohaku. Even the cement walkways have been tinted to match Kauai's famous red dirt!

The Orchid Cottage features:

a fully equipped kitchen including gas range and dishwasher, microwave, blender, thermal carafe coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, hand mixer, and all cooking utensils, dishes, pans, etc.

The kitchen features full sized appliances, including a dishwasher	You'll enjoy a separate dining area.	The living room, with the doorway to the queen bedroom.

The bathroom has double entrances, from both the queen bedroom as well as the living area. It features a tiled tub/shower with a handheld attachment to make it easier for bathing.

The home's original hardwood floors run throughout the living room and both bedrooms.

The twin bedroom can be converted to a single king size bed upon request.

A twin rollaway bed or a crib can be added at no additional charge.

Upon checking in, you will be greeted with a welcome gift of bottled water and Hawaii coffee and tea for your first morning's breakfast. Toiletries provided include shampoo, condition, liquid hand soap and shower gel.

$250 per night (7 night minimum stay)

$275 per night (2 night minimum stay)

Maximum guest occupancy: 5

Cleaning fee: $150

Security deposit (refundable after your departure): $100
