Luau Catering Da Imu Hut in Hanapepe doesn't have a web site, but they are great if you'd like to plan your own luau while you're staying with us. They will prepare all the standard luau fixings for however many are in your party, and have them ready for you to pick up and bring back to Hale Pohaku. By the way -- if you're not into eating pork (and kahlua pig is the staple of a Hawaiian luau), try asking them to prepare kahlua turkey. It's fantastic! Their contact information is: DA IMU HUT CAFE

Emergency Medical Information Poipu is almost directly in the middle between Kauai's two primary hospitals. Wilcox Memorial Hospital, the largest of the two, is located in Lihue. They also operate a number of satellite clinics around the island. Kauai Veteran's Memorial Hospital is smaller, and is located in Waimea (on the west side of the island). Poipu and Koloa do have their own fire station and ambulance station. In an emergency, you can telephone 911, and usually representatives of both the ambulance and fire station will be there within a few minutes.
